A Kappie pick

Another local lekker lassy is, Minki van der Wes…or is it still Visser?

I don’t know, but either way she’s still a hottie and worthy of your vote!

PS. Vote for Kappie’s choices and receive absolutely nothing, but the satisfaction of agreeing with him that his choices are indeed…AWESOME!

I’d tap that – Lee-Ann Liebenberg

A Kappie pick

This week I decided to look locally for a gorgeous girl. And as luck would have it, while I was waiting in traffic this morning a furniture truck drove past me with the answer. It’s of course Lee-Ann Liebenberg. Rumours are she’s single again too…SHOTGUN!

E-Liarable Bachelor

Posted by lanktank on October 14, 2009

A post by Kappie

While I’m walking past the television, I happen to hear that a certain programme has a competition for the most eligible bachelor. Sounding insane to you? No?

Okay, so I presume there are going to be a number of single men, who all work out, have successful careers and ‘care’ for the environment. This is fine, but do we need an award for them?

First of all WHY are they still single? Do they secretly have the filthiest mouths alive? Built like Ken of the Barbie fame (as in no tackle or berries)? Have candy floss for brains and have only managed to get where they are based on their looks? I mean it is a little known fact that pretty people are more successful. Jimbo told me that.

The most obvious reason why these men are single is that they must be gay. Right? But I’m sure even gay men would find them attractive. So, why the singleness?

Perhaps if they spent a little less time in the gym and on lame television programmes they’d found someone already. Maybe they’re liars and aren’t single, but the television programme told them to say that so more women would watch. Check for wedding ring marks on their fingers ladies.

It basically boils down to even though C-Dawg and Kappie are single; we’re still not winning the eligible bachelor award. And who would want to? “Well done! You’ve just won this award for being the guy who shouldn’t be single the most, but IS! Lube is behind the stage…wanker!”

Guess Who’s Single

Posted by Carl Schutte on May 18, 2009

A C-Dawg link

I must admit, I’ve always had a bit of a thing for her and damn does she look good for her age (81).

There’s just something naughty about that bow in her hair… and she’s always got a smile on her face. That’s what I like in a woman…

New look for FC

Posted by Laurence on March 11, 2009

This blog entry was brought to you by FirstChild

I have been single for a while now, since the break up with “Ms Big”. And I think it’s time for a new me. I need to get my game together. I can’t spend every Friday with online video lectures. Anyway, the point of this post is not just to complain about how pathetic my love life has become (“C-Dawgish” even) but to ask for advice on a fashion change.

Some of these are awesome (h/t kottke)

Valentine’s Day: What’s the crew getting up to: Part 1

Posted by lanktank on February 10, 2009

So… dare I say, the dreaded V-day is approaching us. Foreseeing some sort of joke anyone may suggest about that standing for Vagina Day (eh-hem Kappie), I’m talking about the one, the only, the very painful: Valentine’s Day.

No matter how much we try pretend that “it’s a nothing event on the calendar” and “it’s just something card companies make up to sell more… well, cards,” we still cannot deny that inevitably we end up doing something on this day.

Trying to get a feel for what everyone else’s vibe is for the day of the 14th (it being on a Saturday as well) I put the question to the crew: What are you guys doing for Valentine’s Day?

C-Dawg:

OK, so normally Valentine’s Day is a day that doesn’t even show up on my radar – I’m usually single.
However, this year I find myself in an awkward predicament. It all started this weekend…

I was down on Clifton 4th on Friday evening watching the sunset… magical, simply magical! Anyway, the lads & I proceeded on to La-Med.
Somehow we managed to secure a table by being in the right place, at the right time. My evening started to look up when two cute girls asked if they could squeeze onto the end of our table.

Anyway, long story short… I got the one girl’s number.
I strategically sent an SMS on Sat, before calling her on Sun.
I find that first sending an SMS helps build rapport, thus increasing your chances of them answering that first call.

So, she seems like a nice girl & we’re meeting up during the week.
Only one problem, Valentine’s Day is around the corner and I barely know this girl – I can’t handle that kinda pressure. The way I see it I have 2 options, break up with her or actually do something romantic for Valentine’s Day.
Decisions, decisions…
You know what, normally I’d just call the whole thing off, but this is a new year, so I think I’ll do something thoughtful & romantic for a change.
I’ve got enough time to research on the internet for romantic ideas…

And FirstChild?

Nothing too extravagant planned. A quiet evening at home. I have some free online video lectures I’ve been meaning to watch. Something light, like basic probability with applications to machine learning. Maybe I’ll treat myself to a glass of red wine.

After the lectures, I think I might try and crank out a few problems. I might have some Godiva chocolate, a little present from myself to me. Maybe after the red wine and chocolate I might try and drunk-G-Chat FirstEx (“Ms Big”)  who is probably going to be out having fun with some new man.

Check out the others tomorrow….

Zingara and Couples

Posted by lanktank on January 25, 2009

Dmeister and I went to Madame Zingara on Friday night with Hailstorm and Baino. Hailstorm and Baino are that couple Dmeister and I do other “couply” things with. The reason for this is that they’re one of the few couples out there that don’t irritate the crap out of you.

Granted I’m an item and have been for two years but I still remember the single life, with great fondness I might add, and let’s face it: Most couples suck. They’re either boring or annoying and neither of those emotions I am down with.

There’s nothing worse than a couple who’ve developed “cute” nicknames and voices for each other and then choose to speak this way in public company. And the longer they stay together plus the more you hang out with them; the more they seem to think it’s acceptable to “goo goo” and “gaga” at each other. I’d like to speak for every single person out there when I say: This is not acceptable behaviour. Never ever ever EVER talk like this when there are other people around.

I mean, you want to call each other “Poobear” and “Pingaling” in the privacy of your own home, by all means but as soon as you enter everyday life and you know, standard social situations you go back to being normal human beings with an average IQ. Okay? Read the rest of this entry »
